EzriCare Artificial Tears, produced by Global Pharma Healthcare, has been recalled by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to potential contamination. All batches of the product have been linked to pseudomonas aeruginosa, which has caused multiple infections and one death. 55 patients across 12 states, including California, New Jersey, and Florida, have been affected, with some experiencing eye infections, blindness, and permanent vision loss. The CDC confirmed in a memo on January 20th, 2023 that at least person has died from a bloodstream infection.
